NASA is having another bash at landing on Mars' North Pole.

As a fellow engineer, I would pass on some words of advice: learn the difference between the Metric and Imperial systems; this could save many lost dollars and red faces all round. (On the last attempt in 1999, NASA used Metric and Lockheed Martin, Imperial measures; the result was the probe being lost without a trace.)
